About Us
Shawn Lucas, RP
Shawn has been working as a therapist for 24 years. During this time he has worked with hundreds of clients with severe mood disorders including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia, Schizo-Affective Disorder, Major Addiction Disorder, Prolonged Grief Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. He provides a welcoming, safe and confidential environment to explore challenging emotions. and has helped his clients find new meaning, purpose, hope, and identity.
Shawn’s experience and love of teaching, has led him to educating and supervising student therapists for the last 12 years. He has supervised at least 100 students directly in that time.
Shawn has a master’s degree in divinity and is currently working on his doctoral studies, with a thesis topic of Best Practises in Suicide Bereavement. He is also currently cross appointed as Sessional Faculty at Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto, and Martin Luther University College at Laurier University. Shawn has published an article on “Assessing Transcendent Experiences Versus Mental Illness” and has appeared on CBC’s radio program Tapestry.
